Real Madrid considering Alexis Mac Allister swoop

Real Madrid is keen to sign Alexis Mac Allister in the summer, as they are probably seeking a replacement for Luka Modric.

According to Direct TV Sports, Real Madrid is reportedly interested in a move for Alexis Mac Allister, who has just had a successful season at Liverpool. There’s a reported €70 million clause in his contract that the Blancos may look to exploit in the summer window.

Real Madrid keen on Alexis Mac Allister

The news might sound strange to Liverpool fans, but Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on Alexis Mac Allister ahead of the summer. The Argentine midfielder has been tremendous for the Merseyeisders during his debut season, but there’s a stipulation in his contract that could potentially allow other clubs to take advantage.

Much like during his Brighton days, Mac Allister had a clause that Liverpool exploited, but it appears his camp is exploring the idea of a new move in the future. As per the report, Mac Allister has a €70 million release clause in his Liverpool deal, which Real Madrid is keen to take advantage of.

It’s a brilliant fee for any suitor to take advantage of, but Liverpool might look to fight to keep hold of the midfielder after a tremendous opening season. He has made a big impact on proceedings, but if the news of the release clause comes out as accurate, Liverpool may not have much power but to accept the conditions.

If that’s the case, then the idea of Real Madrid could engage the Argentine midfielder. However, there’s doubt that Liverpool might have something hidden to make such a deal more straightforward. Mac Allister, like maybe many South American players, is open to the idea of a switch to one of the Spanish giants, but Liverpool’s resistance will be interesting to see.

Is Real Madrid seeking a Luka Modric replacement?

Luka Modric recently confessed to the idea of staying put at Real Madrid, but the decision has yet to be made. There’s a big chance they could let go of the legendary Croatian midfielder, but it does appear he could have another season under his belt.

Should they end up parting ways with Modric, someone like Mac Allister might be the right candidate to replace him in the long run.
