Manchester United best-positioned to land Jarrad Branthwaite

Manchester United are leading the race to sign Jarrad Branthwaite amid interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Manchester United are keen on reinforcing their defence ahead of next season, and Jarrad Branthwaite is at the top of their wishlist. The Red Devils are best placed to sign the Everton centre-back. But they will face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

On the back of an impressive loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, Branthwaite has established himself in Everton’s first-team. He has been ever-present in their backline this term, and his consistent performances have resulted in interest from across Europe.

While his contract with the Merseyside club runs until the summer of 2027, and they have put a €70 million price tag on the 21-year-old, his future at the club is uncertain because of the amount of interest in him.

Manchester United leading the race for Branthwaite’s signature?

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid are all interested in the English centre-back’s services. The Gunners want to further bolster their defence ahead of next season, and people at the club feel the Everton centre-back could be a great addition to their squad.

Chelsea are looking for a replacement for Thiago Silva, and they feel Branthwaite could be an ideal fit for their project which revolves around young stars. Los Blancos are also keen on adding him to their ranks as Carlo Ancelotti is looking to add depth to his backline.

Their priority was to acquire the services of Leny Yoro. But the massive price that Lille are looking for is making things difficult for Real Madrid. As a result, they are looking to push for the Everton centre-back. While all three clubs are interested in acquiring the services of the young defender, Manchester United lead the race for his signature.

The Red Devils are best positioned to sign the €70 million-rated defender in the summer as they look to make a big impact in their first full season under new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. With Raphael Varane leaving the club, they are looking at Branthwaite as the ideal replacement.
