According to a report by The Athletic, Manchester United met Bruno Fernandes last week to discuss his long-term future at Old Trafford. So, he will likely stay at the Premier League club for at least another season.

Bruno Fernandes and his Manchester United story so far

Bruno Fernandes has been a talismanic figure for Manchester United since arriving from Sporting CP in a big-money deal in January 2020. The Red Devils chased him for over a year before securing his services four and a half years ago.

While the Premier League heavyweights have blown hot and cold during Bruno Fernandes’s stint at the club, he has been a shining light throughout his stay. The 29-year-old has also been a rare positive for Manchester United thus far this season, amassing 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Amid Manchester United’s struggles on the pitch, there have been suggestions that most players are on the chopping block heading into the summer transfer window. Reports have also claimed that the Portuguese international is ready to depart from Old Trafford if the Red Devils put him up for sale.

A man in demand

Bruno Fernandes has no shortage of suitors pursuing his signature heading into the summer transfer window. The latest reports have suggested that Barcelona. Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in securing the Manchester United captain’s services in the coming weeks.

However, Manchester United will not entertain any offers for the 29-year-old talisman in the summer transfer window. Officials from the Premier League club met the Portuguese playmaker last week to discuss his future, and they made it clear that they would not part ways with him anytime soon.

The Manchester United captain has also expressed his desire to remain at Old Trafford beyond the summer transfer window. So, Bruno Fernandes’s suitors will have to look elsewhere to bolster their creative options.
