Arsenal could sell upto seven players this summer

Arsenal could part ways with as many as seven first-team players in the upcoming transfer window as they look to boost their transfer budget.

According to a report from the Mirror, Arsenal are gearing up for another summer full of negotiations as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad. While they are planning to sign multiple top stars, they are also ready to offload quite a few players to make room as well as boost their transfer budget.

The North London club have gone from strength to strength over the years under Arteta. While they have been competing for the Premier League title for the past two seasons, the Spanish boss feels they still need a lot of reinforcement to become a real powerhouse.

Arsenal line up a mass clear-out

He wants to improve the depth of his squad which is why the club is all set to have a busy summer. The Gunners are all set to hand him a significant transfer budget to reshape the squad. To further bolster it, they are ready to sanction the departure of Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson.

Apart from the seven, Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny and Arthur Okonkwo are all set to leave the club with their contracts running out. Ramsdale has been replaced as the club’s number one by David Raya and he now looks set to leave in search of regular first-team action.

Nketiah is not in the plans of Arteta moving ahead while Emile Smith Rowe hasn’t lived up to expectations. Despite having had exceptional loan spells elsewhere Nelson hasn’t been able to break into the first team. With a lot of interest in his signature, the Gunners are looking to cash in on him.

These transfers will help them raise significant funds. More importantly, Nketiah, Smith Rowe and Nelson are academy graduates which means they will be registered as 100 per cent profit helping them in terms of Premier League’s Profit and Sustainibility Rules.

With the PSR in check and significant funds in their kitty, Arteta and Edu are expected to go hard to sign some quality players to reinforce their squad and push for all major titles next season.
