Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur keen on Samu Omorodion

Arsenal and Tottenham might battle it out for Atletico Madrid teenager Samu Omorodion, but they are unwilling to pay his huge release clause.

According to Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, Arsenal and Tottenham are among the teams keen on Samu Omorodion ahead of the summer. The  19-year-old La Liga attacker will return to Atletico Madrid after a successful loan spell at Deportivo Alaves, with a future decision yet to be made.

Arsenal, Tottenham chasing Samu Omorodion?

Premier League sides are always looking at some top young talents to shore up their squad. Atletico Madrid’s 19-year-old La Liga attacker Samu Omorodion has emerged on the radars of many English clubs, with West Ham showing an early interest in the teenager, who has had a productive season while on loan with Deportivo Alaves.

He scored nine goals and provided an assist for the La Liga side as he prepares to return to Atletico Madrid, where his future remains uncertain. There have been further interest from Premier League sides, including from Arsenal and Liverpool, as it appears Tottenham may have joined the race. Ange Postecoglou has been looking for an additional striker in the summer and may look closely at the 19-year-old La Liga attacker.

Spurs are also keen on Kevin Denkey from Cercle Brugge, which shows they are looking for a young striker to grace their squad. As for Arsenal, they are linked to more prolific names, including Alexander Isak. However, Mikel Arteta might be bold in bringing in a younger striker to improve his squad depth, with Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson likely to leave.

However, the 19-year-old La Liga attacker has a massive release clause between €80-100 million, something neither Tottenham nor Arsenal will pay up. Hence, if Atletico are interested in selling, they might have to negotiate with interested clubs to find a solution. However, Diego might even think about keeping him.

Will Atletico sell Omorodion?

The idea of selling and cashing on a young talent right now might have crossed Atletico’s mind for a brief period. However, there are chances Simeone might end up keeping him and aiding his development with the first team, especially given Alvaro Morata might depart the club in the close season.

Hence, there are chances for Atletico to keep the teenager and make him a part of the first-team squad for next season. However, their financial state might force some sales, and should they place Omorodion on the market, they will look to make a massive profit from his departure.
