Manchester United watching Assan Ouedraogo

Schalke 04 never fails to surprise with their potential to develop phenomenal talents. They already have the next big player on their hands in Assan Ouedraogo, with the 17-year-old German prodigy already pencilled in for big things in the future.

Ouedragao has already attracted massive interest from early on in the season, with Bayern Munich pressing ahead with a move. The Bavarians are one of the favourites to land him alongside domestic rivals RB Leipzig, as early reports indicate the 17-year-old German prodigy might prefer a switch within the country.

Meanwhile, there’s tremendous interest from Premier League sides, with Manchester United and Manchester City among those keen. Newcastle United are also credited with an interest, and now the Red Devils are keeping closer tabs and scouting him somewhat regularly.

Manchester United are eager to build a top class first team squad, as well as focus on the future, with Ouedraogo certainly showing he’s close to the leading group rather than a prospect for the future. He is reportedly open to leaving Schalke in the summer.

Schalke open to selling and keeping him on a loan

Schalke are open to offers coming in for Ouedraogo, although they might discuss the idea of keeping the 17-year-old German prodigy on loan to aid his development. Selling a player of his quality will provide them with much more money that could help them in the immediate term.

The German side are protected with a contract until 2027, which enables them to seek a good enough price in the market. Ourdraogo is no longer a prospect, with the teenager making more than 15 appearances this season while also missing four months of action with an injury.
