Newcastle United are looking to battle it out with multiple top clubs for the services of 17-year-old FC Schalke sensation Assan Ouedraogo.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of Assan Ouedraogo. The 17-year-old midfield sensation has made quite a name for himself of late and multiple top clubs are after his signatures. But, the Magpies are willing to battle it out to land him at their club.
Ouedraogo joined the Schalke youth ranks in the summer of 2014. He has come up the ranks at some pace, the teenager was promoted to their first team ahead of the ongoing season. In his debut season, the German youth international has featured in 14 league games for the German 2nd division outfit.
He might have had limited game time but he has impressed one and all with his performances. Clubs have been following the teenager since his days in the youth team and they are impressed with what they have seen from the midfield sensation.
Multiple top clubs are interested in Ouedraogo
While his contract with Schalke runs until the summer of 2027, a move in the upcoming transfer window looks highly likely. Bayern Munich are one of the big clubs after his signatures. The teenager already has an offer from the German giants on his table.
But, he is a bit hesitant to join Bayern as they haven’t yet confirmed who their next manager will be. He doesn’t want to be in a situation where the new boss might not have him in his plans. As a result, other clubs are pushing for his signatures.
RB Leipzig, Frankfurt, Atalanta and AS Roma are all keen on having the 17-year-old in their ranks. They feel he could be a sensational signing for them given the kind of potential he has. While multiple clubs are pushing for his signature, Newcastle are ready to battle it out to sign Ouedraogo.
