Liverpool, Manchester United run rule over Willian Pacho

Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly had scouts present at the game between Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich to watch Willian Pacho.

According to Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Willian Pacho is gaining popularity in the market. Liverpool and Manchester United dispatched scouts this past weekend to watch the Eintracht Frankfurt defender against Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga club will demand around £43 million to part ways with the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window.

The rise and rise of Willian Pacho

Willian Pacho has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the Bundesliga since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from Royal Antwerp last summer. A native of Quininde, the Ecuadorian defender spent his formative years in his homeland before arriving in Europe two years ago.

Since then, he has gone from strength to strength and is currently a pivotal figure for Eintracht Frankfurt. The 22-year-old has been a mainstay at the back for Die Adler this term, amassing over 3,500 minutes of game time across 41 appearances in all competitions, chipping in two goals.

Meanwhile, Willian Pacho’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing the youngster in the summer transfer window. And Liverpool and Manchester United recently sent scouts to watch the Eintracht Frankfurt defender against Bayern Munich this past weekend.

Premier League move on the cards?

Liverpool’s interest in Willian Pacho is understandable. The Merseyside club will likely part ways with Joel Matip, who will become a free agent when the summer transfer window opens. In addition, Virgil van Dijk is on the wrong side of 30. So, the Eintracht Frankfurt defender has emerged as a viable target for Liverpool.

As for Manchester United, the Red Devils have seemingly joined the race to secure Willian Pacho’s services. They are also scouring the market for a centre-back amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans. So, the Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back is an option worth considering.

Meanwhile, Die Adler will demand around £43 million to part ways with the Ecuadorian defender. Manchester United and Liverpool should have the funds to sign the 22-year-old from the Bundesliga club as he continues to rise in prominence.
