Tottenham are well-placed to make a move for attacking target Albert Gudmundsson as rivals are reluctant to pay the €40 million asking price.

According to Tutto Juve, Tottenham could take advantage of the market situation surrounding Albert Gudmundsson and make a move for the Icelandic star. Genoa want €40 million for their star attacker, with neither Juventus nor Inter Milan ready to match that asking price, leaving Spurs well-placed to sign him.

Tottenham well-placed to land Albert Gudmundsson?

Tottenham are well-placed to bring Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa ahead of the summer. Ange Postecoglou wants a versatile attacker in his squad, one who could add to the creativity and get plenty of goals to the equation.

They were recently linked with Eberechi Eze, who represents the profile Postecoglou is yearning for. But the Crystal Palace man will be an expensive acquisition. One other player on their radar since January has been Albert Gudnmudsson, the Genoa attacker, who will leave the Serie A club either for a move to the Premier League or to one of Italy’s heavyweight clubs.

Tottenham have been ready to pay what was necessary to land the Icelandic international, and Genoa had been demanding at least €35 million for their star man. However, the Serie A side have slightly increased their demands, with the price for Gudmundsson now standing at €40 million.

Tottenham are well-placed for the attacker as they are not bothered too much by the demands by the Serie A club. Hence, the North Londoners have a big chance in the market should they pursue the attacker with all intent in the summer.

Juventus and Inter Milan are not willing to pay

The big boost for Spurs in the race for the Icelandic attacker is the fact that Inter Milan and Juventus are not willing to pay Genoa’s €40 million asking price. The duo considers the price high and is probably looking to pay significantly lower in the summer.

Tottenham, for their part, hold good relations with Genoa, having successfully negotiated a move for Radu Dragusin in the summer. Spurs ended up beating Bayern Munich for the Romanian defender’s signature, and hence, they may have the upper hand in that regard in the race for Gudmundsson.
