Chelsea are reportedly dreaming of a move for Joshua Kimmich, as the club plans to add experienced players.
According to Fichajes, Joshua Kimmich features on Chelssea’s list of dream signings ahead of the summer. The Blues hierarchy plans to move away from their policy of signing only young players and could now make changes to bring some experienced heads into this squad.
Chelsea dreaming of Joshua Kimmich
There are some rare players around who can change the dynamics of a team and the way they play. Also, those stars can help nullify problems in various areas of the pitch, and Joshua Kimmich is undoubtedly one of them.
Kimmich enters the final year of his deal, as Bayern Munich will undoubtedly like to keep him for a long time and offer him a new contract. However, there’s interest from Premier League sides, and Chelsea have added themselves to the equation, as they dream of signing the 29-year-old Bundesliga star.
Chelsea have had this policy under their new owners to sign players only under 25, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a possible exception. They are not planning on changing that policy to bring some experienced players and add them to this young side.
With Kimmich’s contractual situation, Chelsea are willing to exploit the position and probably make a move for the 29-year-old Bundesliga star. Someone like the Bayern star would elevate their quality in many areas, particularly as he would become the top player in their midfield, consisting of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
Kimmich has other clubs interested
Kimmich would undoubtedly improve this Chelsea side, but he will have a choice of clubs that will want to sign him should Bayern make him available. Arsenal are interested in the midfielder, as Mikel Arteta would undoubtedly be interested should he get the opportunity for the German.
Manchester City and Liverpool are also keen, with the players open to playing for either should an opportunity arise. In any case, Kimmich will have plenty of options, especially with teams playing in the Champions League, something Chelsea may not be able to offer next season.
