Barcelona will not entertain any offers for 69-cap Danish international Andreas Christensen in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Oriol Romeu might leave Barcelona in the summer transfer window. However, the Blaugrana will not listen to any offers for Andreas Christensen. The 69-cap Danish international has been excellent thus far this season and is one of the top performers for Barcelona.

Andreas Christensen and his Barcelona journey

Andreas Christensen has been exceptional since joining Barcelona from Chelsea in a Bosman move in July 2022. The Dane’s decision to leave Chelsea as a free agent shocked many, considering he was rising in stature at Stamford Bridge. However, his stature in the Barcelona first team vindicates his decision.

The 28-year-old has been a regular for Barcelona in the last two years while becoming a utility player for the club due to his ability to play as a holding midfielder as well as he does as a centre-back. That quality has helped Barcelona considerably thus far this season, especially with Pedri, Gavi, and Frenkie de Jong spending significant time on the sidelines.

However, Barcelona’s crippling financial situation has paved the way for the rumour mill to create speculation surrounding Christensen’s future. Recent reports have linked the former Chelsea defender with many Premier League clubs, including Liverpool. And with the Danish international being a high-value asset, selling him might help Barcelona balance the books.

Will Barcelona sell Christensen?

However, Barcelona will not entertain any offers for Christensen, who has become a pivotal figure for the club. With the Blaugrana scouring the market for a midfielder, the Dane can be an in-house option to bolster the midfield unit if a centre-back costs less.

While Guido Rodriguez is a target for Barcelona, Christensen can be a better option due to his age profile and utility value. Nevertheless, the 28-year-old Danish international is not going anywhere in the summer transfer window, with the reigning La Liga champions not interested in parting ways with him.

The Barcelona first-team squad will likely see some significant changes in the summer transfer window. However, it will be surprising to see if things change on Christensen’s end amid the flourishing relationship between the two parties.
