Sergio Reguilon has been linked with a summer move away from Tottenham Hotspur, with a return to La Liga on the cards.

A report from Fichajes has claimed that Girona and Real Sociedad are looking to sign Sergio Reguilon. The Spaniard does not have a future at Tottenham, and a return to La Liga might be on the cards heading into the summer transfer window.

Sergio Reguilon has blown hot and cold since joining Tottenham Hotspur in a €30 million deal from Real Madrid. He began his stint with the North London club well but could not replicate that form as the months wore on.

Reguilon is currently on loan at Premier League club Brentford, and he will return to his parent club upon the expiry of his loan deal. However, he does not have a future at Tottenham, and they will look to sell him permanently in the summer.

Tottenham already have players like Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies, and Ryan Sessegnon at their disposal. Reguilon needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and a return to Spain could be ideal for him.

He could prove to be a useful acquisition for Girona. Miguel Gutierrez has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club, and they will need to replace him adequately. The 27-year-old Spanish defender seems like the an ideal fit for them.

La Liga return would be ideal for Reguilon

The 27-year-old has played in La Liga in the past, and he should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact next season. Tottenham will look to recoup some money for him and improve their squad in the summer transfer window.

The Spaniard arrived at Tottenham with a lot of expectations. But the move has not worked out for either party. It would be ideal for them to go their separate ways this summer.

The opportunity to return to his homeland will be an attractive proposition for the player, and he will look to get his career back on track with regular football in La Liga. The defender must seek game time assurances before joining Girona or Real Sociedad. He cannot afford to sit on the bench at another club at this stage of his career.

The defender still has a lot of time to get his career back contract, and he will look to join a competitive club in the summer. There is no doubt that he has the quality to play at the highest level, and it remains to be seen whether he can regain his form and confidence in the coming seasons.
