Barcelona and Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing 30-year-old Argentine international Paulo Dybala from AS Roma.

According to a report from Fichajes, Barcelona and Chelsea have made their approach for Paulo Dybala. The World Cup-winning attacker who has 23 goal contributions for AS Roma in all competitions.

Dybala has been a key player for Roma, and he should prove to be a superb acquisition for Barcelona and Chelsea as well. The 30-year-old has a contract with the Italian club until the summer of 2025, and they could be under pressure to sell him in the summer if he does not sign an extension with them. They will not want to lose a quality player like him on a free transfer.

Dybala has found the back of the net 14 times in all competitions, and he has provided nine assists along the way as well. He is versatile enough to operate as a centre forward, a winger as well as a central attacking midfielder. His ability to slot into multiple roles in the final third and perform at a high level makes him and invaluable asset, and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona can get the deal done.

They will need to add more depth to their attack, and signing a utility forward would be a wise decision. Dybala is at the peak of his career right now, and he has the quality and the experience to adapt to Spanish football and make an immediate impact at Barcelona. However, the Spanish giants might struggle to compete financially with Premier League clubs.

Chelsea keen on Paulo Dybala

Chelsea are looking to improve their attacking unit, and Dybala could prove to be a quality short-term option. The 30-year-old will add creativity and goals to the Chelsea attack. He could lead the line for them allowing players like Cole Palmer to operate in their natural roles. He would also help share the goal scoring burden with the England international.

Dybala might be tempted to move to the Premier League at this stage of his career. It will be an excellent opportunity for him, and he will look to prove himself against the best players in England. Both clubs would represent excellent opportunities for the player, and it remains to be seen what he decides.

The Argentine international has the ability to improve both teams, and whoever ends up signing him will have a quality player on their hands. Given the fact that he will have just one year left on his contract at the end of the season, he should be available for a reasonable price as well.
