Fulham remain interested in the services of 24-year-old Chelsea graduate Trevoh Chalobah and could push for his signature in the summer.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Fulham have started to plan for the upcoming summer transfer window. They are looking at ways to bolster their defence and have their eyes on Trevoh Chalobah, who is expected to part ways with his childhood club Chelsea.
Trevoh Chalobah’s time at Chelsea could end soon
Chalobah had an impressive rise, as he made it to Chelsea’s first team quite early in his career and even managed to get an extended run in the team. But, things have fallen apart over the past 12 months. He has suffered because of injuries and his game time has taken a major hit.
Injuries kept him out of the first half of the season. While he is back fit, the 24-year-old academy graduate does not seem to be an important part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans moving ahead. He has started their last two Premier League outings. But it might just be a way to get him into the market as per the report.
Chalobah had the chance to part ways with the club last summer, but he decided against it. The Chelsea youth product wanted to fight for a place in his childhood club, and he ended up staying. But, things have not changed and he does not see himself as an important part of their plans, the former England youth international is now open to the idea of leaving the club in the summer.
While his contract with the London club runs until the summer of 2028, the Blues are ready to sanction his departure in hopes of raising funds. Since he is a homegrown player, funds raised from his sales will be listed as direct profit helping their financial situation in a huge way.
Fulham keen on Trevoh Chalobah
Fulham are one of the clubs keen on signing the 24-year-old. They enquired about him in the winter and are now ready to return for his services in the summer. The Cottagers feel the Chelsea graduate could be of great help to them as he has enough experience of playing in the English top flight.
They are looking at Chalobah as a potential replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo. The 26-year-old centre-back’s contract runs out at the end of the season and he already has offers from top clubs like Tottenham and Manchester United to join them as a free agent. His departure looks very likely, as a result, they want to bring the Chelsea defender to the club.
While there is no shortage of interest in him, Fulham are the most attractive option to the 24-year-old because of his family’s relationship with the club. His brother was a part of the Fulham youth academy, and he even played for their first team. His family has always had a good relationship with the club, which could play a big part in his decision.
