Newcastle United have put their foot on the accelerator as they look to sign Chelsea and Manchester United target Benjamin Sesko.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Newcastle United are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of next season and have their eyes set on Benjamin Sesko. The Magpies have had a disappointing season so far, and the upcoming transfer window is going to be quite a crucial one for them as they look to revive themselves.

The Magpies finished inside the top four last season and managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. But, injuries and the lack of depth have seen them struggle this term, and they are looking at ways to bolster their squad.

Newcastle United want to reinforce quite a few areas on the pitch and their major focus is on signing a new striker. Callum Wilson is expected to part ways with the club at the end of the season, and they are looking to bring in a forward who fits their plans going forward.

Newcastle United pushing for Sesko

The Magpies feel RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko could be an ideal fit for them. His age, his profile and the potential he has make him the perfect fit for the English club. The 20-year-old who has scored 13 goals this season for the German club will only get better with time. As a result, they are looking to invest in him.

Newcastle United have already stepped up their interest in the RB Leipzig forward. The Magpies have been scouting him on a regular basis of late. They look determined to sign him in the summer. Meanwhile, Newcastle could face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United, who have also scouted the 20-year-old on multiple occasions.

The Red Devils need a new striker who can support Rasmus Hojlund up top. Meanwhile, the Blues do not have a proven goalscorer in their ranks and are on the lookout for a new number nine. While both clubs are interested in Benjamin Sesko, he is not their priority target at this stage. But, things could change if they fail to sign their top targets.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United can sign the 20-year-old for £43 million. It is considered to be a cheap price for such an incredible talent because of how much clubs have spent to sign top attacking talents in the recent past. With the Magpies battling with Profit and Sustainability Rules, it is considered a great deal for them.
