AC Milan are keen on having the 25-year-old Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale in their ranks ahead of next season.

According to a report by Fichajes, AC Milan have emerged as a surprise contenders for the signatures of Aaron Ramsdale. The 25-year-old English shot-stopper has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal and is expected to be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.

Aaron Ramsdale to part ways with Arsenal

Ramsdale arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2021. He managed to establish himself as a mainstay in Mikel Arteta’s team and played an important part in their push for the Premier League title last season.

Everyone expected him to be their number one this season as well. But, the arrival of David Raya has seen him go down the pecking order. Raya joined the Gunners on a season-long loan with a buy option. He has been Arteta’s preferred choice throughout with Ramsdale restricted to 11 appearances across all competitions.

The 25-year-old is not happy with his situation at the club as it could even cost him a place in the England national team for the upcoming Euros. Raya’s loan move is expected to be made permanent in the summer which means Ramsdale might never be the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal again.

As a result, he is expected to push for a move away from the club in the summer. And, as per reports, the Gunners won’t stand in his way despite his current deal running until the summer of 2026.

AC Milan keen on Aaron Ramsdale

AC Milan are one of the clubs that are looking to make the best use of the situation. The Italian giants are interested in the services of the England international as they look to bolster their goalkeeping position.

Mike Maignan is the undisputed number one at the Italian club but since there is a lot of interest in his services, Milan might be looking to prepare themselves for the future and see this as a great opportunity.

Ramsdale is expected to be available for a bargain price in the summer given the limited role that he has had and the fact that he will be pushing for a move away. The Italian giants do not have the best financial situation and that is why this could be a golden opportunity for them to reinforce the goalkeeping position.
