Manchester United linked with a player-plus-cash deal involving Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United are reportedly considering a player-plus-cash offer involving Aaron Wan-Bissaka for Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Manchester United could target a player-plus-cash deal for Denzel Dumfries. The report insists Inter Milan probably likes Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and he could be the player going to Italy as part of the deal.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka plus cash for Denzel Dumfries?

Aaron Wan-Bissaka continues to surprise many Manchester United fans, for he’s still there at the club. Apart from his defending abilities, the right-back barely offers anything out of the ordinary, which makes him a unique option for Erik ten Hag. Hence, the right-back may leave in the summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

Over in Italy, there’s a similar contractual situation brewing at Inter Milan, with €30 million-rated defender Denzel Dumfries also entering the last year of his deal. While Inter Milan are happy with the Netherlands international, they will likelky cash in on him shoiuld an opportunity arise.

Incidentally, the report states they like Wan-Bissaka, which is valued at €15 million by the report as an option to replace the Dutchman. The publication pours two and two together and insists Manchester United will offer a player-plus-cash deal for the Dutchman involving the former Crystal Palace defender.

Inter Milan are not open to a straight swap deal, as they want to attain some cash for the defender should they sell him. Moreover, they are also not happy with the valuation of Wan-Bissaka, as they believe the Manchester United defender should cost considerably less.

Manchester United eyeing defensive revamp?

Manchester United are certainly in the market for a new full-back, maybe even one on the left side. Dumfries has been an option for a while, and there might be other names in their shortlist. Beyond that, Erik ten Hag also wants new central defenders, with some of his current crop likely to leave when their contract expires.

Then there are stars like Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, who are also heading into the summer with uncertain futures. Hence, on paper, Manchester United may need at least three or four new defenders across the backline, which seems like a significant defensive revamp.
