Aaron Wan-Bissaka is increasingly likely to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window, with the Red Devils identifying potential replacements.

According to reputed Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, talks between Manchester United and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are progressing slowly. So, the 26-year-old is increasingly likely to leave the Premier League club in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries and Jeremie Frimpong have emerged as candidates to replace the incumbent right-back.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and his Manchester United Journey

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester United from Crystal Palace. The Red Devils shelled out £50 million to secure the services of the London-born right-back. But he has not justified the investment due to his inconsistencies and failure to establish himself as the undisputed first-choice right-back in the last half a decade.

The 26-year-old has turned out 177 times thus far for Manchester United, chipping in with two goals and 13 assists. But Wan-Bissaka’s long-term future at Old Trafford is uncertain as he has entered the final 18 months of his contract. So, he will be in the last year of his deal in the summer transfer window.

Reports linked Wan-Bissaka with fellow Premier League clubs in the winter transfer window. But other outlets suggested he was not going to leave Manchester United in January. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have been eager to open talks with the Englishman.

Set for a Summer Departure?

However, Rudy Galetti has suggested that talks between Manchester United and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are not progressing well. So, the 26-year-old is increasingly likely to leave the Premier League club in the summer transfer window. A move across the Premier League might be on the cards if he heads into the summer without signing a new contract.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have identified two candidates to replace Wan-Bissaka, with Jeremie Frimpong and Denzel Dumfries featuring on their radar. The duo fits the Dutch criteria that Erik ten Hag has primarily had while pursuing targets in the market.

So, it will be interesting to see if Wan-Bissaka leaves Manchester United in the summer transfer window if talks over a new contract collapse in the coming months. We might then see Frimpong or Dumfries arriving at Old Trafford.
