Fulham will reportedly compete with three other Premier League clubs to bring 31-year-old Rangers striker Kemar Roofe back to England.

According to a report by Football Insider, Kemar Roofe is the subject of interest from Fulham. The 31-year-old is in the final months of his contract with Rangers and will likely leave the Scottish club as a free agent in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, four other English outfits are keen on signing the experienced striker.

Who is Kemar Roofe?

Kemar Roofe has been a journeyman for much of his professional career thus far. A native of Walsall, he spent his formative years in England but has chosen Jamaica as his national side. However, he has managed only five appearances for the CONCACAF federation side since making his debut in September 2021.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old has been with Rangers since September 2020 but has been a backup option for much of his stay at Ibrox. He has not even managed 100 appearances thus far for the Scottish giants, scoring 38 goals and providing seven assists. However, Roofe will likely leave the club in the summer transfer window as he has entered the final three months of his contract.

Roofe’s contract situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several clubs. Fulham will be in a four-way battle for the experienced striker, with Sheffield United, Southampton, and Queens Park Rangers also vying for his signature.

Fulham eyeing Bosman move

Fulham’s interest in Kemar Roofe is somewhat surprising, considering he has hardly ever been the first-choice striker in his professional career. However, with Rodrigo Muniz blossoming into a top-notch striker, the West London club can do with an attacker who will be a backup option for them.

The Cottagers have shown interest in several other strikers, including Timo Werner. However, Roofe will be a cost-effective solution, as signing him for free can help Fulham focus the rest of the summer budget on other targets.

With Sheffield United, Southampton, and Queens Park Rangers also keen on signing the 31-year-old striker, the competition for his signature will be intense. But Fulham might have an advantage in the chase, considering they can offer him Premier League football.
