The Frenchman joined Real Madrid for a fee of around €48 million in 2019, and he has been a useful option for them in the last half a decade. However, he is not an indispensable asset, and it will not be a surprise if the Spanish outfit sell him in the summer.
They are expected to make a move for Alphonso Davies in the summer, and the Canadian international would be an upgrade on Mendy. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Manchester United need more quality and depth in the left-back department, and the French international could prove to be a useful acquisition for them.
It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid are willing to sell him for a reasonable price. Chelsea and Manchester United will not want to pay over the odds for a player who will not be a key player for the Spanish giants in the coming season.
