Liverpool are reportedly open to a swap deal with Real Madrid involving Trent Alexander-Arnold and Rodrygo Goes ahead of the summer.

Defensa Central insists Liverpool have reportedly thought of swapping Trent Alexander-Arnold for Rodrygo Goes. Real Madrid would be keen on the 25-year-old, with the Reds likely to look for a Mohamed Salah replacement, although a deal has plenty of complexities attached to it.

Trent Alexander-Arnold for Rodrygo Goes?

The report begins with the story of Real Madrid’s reported interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold, as Florentino Perez will eye a new right back in the summer. Real Madrid will want the best profiles from around, and the Liverpool star certainly fits the bill for their project and as a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.

Going further, the stories point to Alexander-Arnold’s depreciating contract at Anfield, although the right-back would like a new contract amid the links with a move away. The reality of the situation is that the right-back will enter the final year of his deal at Anfield in the summer, which puts him at risk.

Liverpool are one of the teams keen on Rodrygo Goes, as they are already planning for life without Mohamed Salah. The Egyptians have extensive links to the Saudi Pro League, and they might view the Brazilians as someone who could replace the electric winger.

Hence, the report concludes that Liverpool might have decided to make an audacious offer to Real Madrid about a swap deal. Should a move materialise, then the 25-year-old Alexander-Arnold will move to the Bernabeu, with Rodrygo going the other way to Anfield.

Will Real Madrid sell Rodrygo Goes?

The report stresses the fact that Rodrygo has not had the best of seasons and adds the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe as a factor that could see him depart the Spanish giants. However, the Brazilian has no interest in leaving Real Madrid and would want to keep playing as one of Carlo Ancelotti’s leading stars.

While Real Madrid might have an interest in Alexander-Arnold, they are unlikely to trade their fiery winger for the England international. Hence, for the time being, Rodrygo’s future will be at the Bernabeu, as only a massive offer from somewhere will make Real Madrid even think of the possibility of the Brazilian’s departure.
