Chelsea are considering making a move for Brazilian shot-stopper Bento on the back of his impressive display against England.

According to a report by HITC, Chelsea are always on the lookout for opportunities to bolster their squad. While they have already signed a number of goalkeepers since Todd Boehly’s takeover, the Blues are once again on the lookout for a new shot-stopper, and Bento is one of the names on their radar.

Bento’s impressive rise

The Brazilian goalkeeper made his international debut in their recent friendly against England. The 24-year-old managed to put up a great performance as he kept a clean sheet against a star-studded attack at Wembley. His performances caught the attention of quite a few top clubs, and he could be subject to a lot of interest with the summer transfer window fast approaching.

Bento has come up the ranks at Athletico Paranaense. He made it to their first team in March 2021 and hasn’t looked back since. The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the years. And of late, he has been in sensational form.

His recent displays have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs, and Chelsea are one of them. The Blues have signed three goalkeepers under the new owners: Robert Sanchez, Gabriel Slonina, and Djordje Petrovic. Sanchez was brought to the club to be their number one. Unfortunately, he has failed to convince the London club that he is the right man for the job.

Chelsea’s search for a new number one

Chelsea have once again started the search for a new shot-stopper. While they have been linked with the likes of Aaron Ramsdale and Giorgi Mamardashvili, Bento is also on their radar. He could represent a great opportunity as the 24-year-old will be available for around £15 million.

He has proved himself in Brazil and has recently done it on the international stage. While the Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper has no experience playing in Europe, he does have the potential to be a special player.

Inter Milan wanted to sign him back in January. Unfortunately, the Nerazzurri failed to finalise a deal and with Chelsea entering the race along with a few other clubs, the Italian giants are going to find it very difficult.
