According to Martin Costa of ESPN Argentina, Aaron Anselmino is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are in the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window. And the 18-year-old Boca Juniors defensive sensation has emerged as a viable target for the Spanish giants. Meanwhile, he is also a target for Manchester United.
Who is Aaron Anselmino?
Aaron Anselmino is the latest South American wonderkid to rise in prominence. The Argentine defensive sensation has been with Boca Juniors for over half a dozen years, joining the famous club’s youth division as a 12-year-old. Since then, he has come leaps and bounds and made his first-team debut in June 2023.
The 18-year-old has already turned out seven times for the first team at Boca Juniors. Meanwhile, Anselmino’s steep rise at the Argentine club has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Real Madrid and Manchester United are two of his prospective suitors heading into the summer transfer window.
A Man in Demand
Real Madrid’s interest in Aaron Anselmino is understandable. The Merengues are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window, with David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Nacho being on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Nacho has entered the final months of his contract and might depart from the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent.
