Manchester United have their sights on signing Juventus defender Gleison Bremer and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes this summer.

According to Calciomercato.it, Manchester United are ready to firm up their interest in Gleison Bremer as they look to take the pole position in the race for the Juventus centre-back, and they value Joao Gomes at €40 million, although that might not seal the deal.

The Juventus defender has a great deal of interest in the Premier League. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made a bullish start to life as the Red Devils’ part owner and has already made his mark behind the scenes. It is anticipated that the Red Devils will be busy this summer following several structural changes.

So many players have been linked with moves to Old Trafford of late. The Red Devils are likely to bolster multiple positions in the next transfer window. The main focus could be in the central defence and holding midfield departments.

Manchester United intensify Gleison Bremer pursuit, value Joao Gomez at €40 million

Bremer, who has been one of the best centre-backs in Serie A in recent times and recently signed a new contract with Juventus, has been linked with the club on multiple occasions. And Calciomercato.it claim that Manchester United are ready to activate the €58 million release clause in his contract.

The hierarchy have already made it known to the Bianconeri. A deal for the centre-back could be fairly straightforward this summer, provided personal terms are agreed. Raphael Varane is due to be a free agent at the end of the season and, barring a late change of heart, is likely to leave the club, so having a leadership figure like Bremer to marshal the backline would surely help them to tighten up at the back.

Meanwhile, Manchester United currently value Gomes in the €40 million ballpark, but they may need to pay more. Wolves rate their midfield maestro at a slightly higher price range. Calciomercato.it states that it would take around €100 million to secure the services of the talented Brazilian duo.

Manchester United’s midfield needs fresh young quality added to it, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen past their best and not representing the future, and Gomes could be a fantastic long-term partner for Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park.
