Chelsea offer Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid

The transfer market is still some time away from re-opening, but the media links have begun emerging in full force. The latest in this round comes from Chelsea reportedly offering Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are looking for a new left-back to replace Ferland Mendy, who will likely leave in the summer. While Cucurella has good qualities, the left-back has yet to prove his worth since making the big move to Chelsea from Brighton. Florentino Perez reportedly wants Alphonso Davies as his crucial target, which would effectively rule out any move for the Chelsea man.

In the Enzo Fernandez case, Real Madrid might consider him a midfielder capable enough to play for the club. However, any move for the Argentine might depend on the future of Toni Kroos, as the German might sign an extension at the club. At the same time, Perez also trusts Aurelien Tchouameni, which might make it difficult to see the Chelsea man arriving in the summer.

Fernandez could be an option for the future, as currently, Chelsea might ask a mammoth asking price, considering they paid around £106 million for the midfielder. As things stand, Real Madrid are unlikely to make any move for either Fernandez or Cucurella as they have different ideas for those positions.

Chelsea’s summer exodus

Chelsea might fall prey to the PSR rules after the heavy spending since the arrival of their new owners. With over a Billion pounds spent on new talents, the expensive stars have yet to manage to elevate their level on the pitch, which would come to cost Chelsea a place in Europe for the second season running.

The Blues need to sell, as they have to make a chunk of money to stay on par with the PSR rules. Failing to do so might cost them points next season, meaning the Blues might part ways with some of their prominent names in the current squad, including Fernandez and most certainly Cucurella.
