Atletico Madrid rival Arsenal, Barcelona, Newcastle United in Adrien Rabiot chase

Atletico Madrid are all set to battle it out with Arsenal, Barcelona and Newcastle United for the services of Juventus star Adrien Rabiot.

According to a report by Tutto Juve, Atletico Madrid are keen on having Adrien Rabiot in their ranks. The Spanish giants want to bolster their midfield ahead of next season and the Juventus midfielder is quite high on their wishlist. But, they will have to square up against Arsenal, Barcelona and Newcastle United for his signatures.

Rabiot joined Juventus in the summer of 2019 as a free agent after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain. He didn’t really have the best of starts to life in Turin but the French international eventually managed to bounce back and establish himself as a mainstay in the team.

He had an exceptional World Cup campaign with the French team back in 2022 where they made it to the final. Overall, he has been a consistent performer for both club and country over the past few seasons.

While he remains an integral part of Juventus’ first team, his future at the club is not certain. His contract runs out at the end of the season and since both parties haven’t agreed on a new deal, there is a real possibility of him leaving as a free agent.

Atletico Madrid are pushing for Adrien Rabiot

Multiple top clubs are aware of his situation at the Italian club and they are ready to pounce on an opportunity to sign the 28-year-old. Atletico Madrid are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Diego Simeone wants to reinforce his midfield and he feels Rabiot could be a great addition to their ranks.

The Madrid-based club haven’t been at their best in the ongoing season and Simeone is looking for players who can help them improve their level of performance. If Rabiot ends up leaving Juventus at the end of the season, Atletico have no intention of missing out on him.

Arsenal, Barcelona and Newcastle are also keen

But, they are not the only club keen on having him in their ranks. Arsenal, Barcelona and Newcastle United have all been linked with the 28-year-old. Mikel Arteta has a quality squad at his disposal at Arsenal but Rabiot’s experience could be an x-factor for them.

As far as the Catalan giants are concerned, their financial crisis isn’t over yet and they are looking at ways to bolster their squad without having to spend much. Signing Rabiot as a free agent could be a great deal for them.

Meanwhile, Newcastle will have a limited budget in the summer to upgrade their squad because of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. As a result, Rabiot could be a great cost-effective option for the Magpies to bolster their squad.
