Arsenal are seemingly in front of the queue to sign Pedro Neto in the summer as a stiff battle for the winger brews in the background.

A report by Give Me Sport has claimed that Arsenal will be the front-runners for Pedro Neto heading into the summer. The Gunners are keen on signing Portuguese winger, with Wolves anticipating an intense battle for the attacker, with Liverpool, Tottenham, and Manchester United all interested in the Portuguese international.

Arsenal in pole position for Pedro Neto?

Pedro Neto has been sensational for Wolves this season, barring some fitness issues that have seen him miss crucial periods. The star winger, who currently pockets £50,000-a-week wages, seems ready to jump to a bigger side that challenges for significant honours, with Arsenal one of those keeping close tabs on his situation.

The Gunners have chased Neto for around two years, and so far, they have prioritised other positions over his wide attacking zone. In the summer, the Gunners are widely expected to make a move, and they have studied the player’s performances throughout the season.

Neto also wants a club playing in the Champions League, a competition the Gunners are guaranteed to qualify for next season. Moreover, many stories have insisted the Wolves star is a boyhood Arsenal fan, which could add to the appeal of playing at the Emirates next season.

Wolves’ asking price of a reported £80 million may make Arsenal flinch. However, Mikel Arteta wants to invest significantly in a long-term option competing with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka in the wings. Neto can play on both flanks and offers a versatile presence in the final third, something the Gunners boss likes about him.

Arsenal face stiff competition for Pedro Neto

Liverpool and Manchester City are particularly interested in Neto ahead of the summer. The Merseysiders anticipate giant bids for Mohamed Salah to come in and view Neto as one of the replacement options for the Egyptians.

Manchester United are also keen, as are Newcastle United, although as Neto wants to play Champions League football, neither team might make it to the competition next season. Similarly, Tottenham are still in with a chance, considering they are now the favourites to finish fourth in the Premier League, meaning Spurs are part of the race in a big way.
