Manchester United could hold internal tasks over a few transfer targets, including Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen.
According to Give Me Sport, Manchester United are set to discuss a potential move for Donyell Malen ahead of the summer window. INOES are concerned about the right side of the attack, as Borussia Dortmund could be willing to sell the Dutchman for a reasonable price.
Manchester United to discuss Donyell Malen transfer?
INEOS have come on board at Manchester United with Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquiring a 25% stake in the club and will head football operations going forward. They do have plenty of crucial decisions on their hands ahead of the summer, including deciding the fate of under-fire manager Erik ten Hag.
There are plenty of crucial transfer decisions also to ponder about, with INEOS particularly concerned about the right wing. Manchester United have held an interest in Borussia Dortmund attacker Donyell Malen, who could fit the bill on the right-hand side of the attack.
The report claims Dortmund might demand a fee close to £43 million, which comes close to a previous story pointing towards a £45 million asking rate. There are other clubs also keen on the attacker with 17 goal contributions, including Arsenal and Liverpool, as Manchester United must act fast in the chase.
Incidentally, the report claims that Manchester United are set to hold an internal discussion about Malen as a potential summer target. In hindsight, Malen could come in and take over that troubled right wing for the Red Devils and could bring the end product from that end of the pitch.
Why are Manchester United keen on Donyell Malen?
During the time that Ten Hag managed the club, the Dutchman barely got anything out of two big signings for the club, Jadon Sancho and Antony. The latter was his choice during his first summer at the club, and the Brazilian has utterly flopped in his two seasons here while costing around 86 million in transfer fees.
Malen’s choice would seem interesting enough, as he could effectively replace Antony, who may not have a future at Old Trafford. Incidentally, another report stated that Dortmund could offer Malen an exchange deal with Sancho and negotiate that way with Manchester United.
For now, INEOS are set to discuss internally about the Dortmund attacker and then make a decision on his pursuit once the season ends.
