Tottenham reportedly failed with a move for Andrea Cambiaso in January, as Real Madrid now lines up a summer move for the exciting fullback.

According to Numero-Diez, Tottenham failed with an approach for Andrea Cambiaso in January. The Italian fullback has had tremendous interest coming his way, with Real Madrid likely to line up a summer move, which will test Juventus’ resolve.

Tottenham failed in Andrea Cambiaso move

Andrea Cambiaso has emerged in this Juventus side and has become a mainstay under Massimiliano Allegri this season. The manager has played him 25 times in Serie A, which shows his reliance on the exciting fullback who can easily play on both flanks.

Incidentally, he prefers the left side of the fullback position, but Allegri has played him more in that typical right wing-back role in this Juventus side. While he has been eased into this team, the Bianconeri had no interest in entertaining any approaches that came their way during the January window.

Tottenham were interested and reportedly approached to determine if a move was possible. Instead, Juventus held their stance and rebuffed any incoming enquiries for the 24-year-old star. Spurs have been in the market to bring in competition for their fullbacks Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie as they considered a move for Cambiaso.

In an ideal world, Ange Postecoglou might have loved a player who can easily play with both feet and flank. Hence, it’s no surprise that Spurs went for the 24-year-old Real Madrid target, who may have a crucial decision ahead of the summer window.

Real Madrid keen on Andrea Cambiaso

Like Tottenham, Real Madrid have contemplated about Cambiaso ahead of the summer window. While the defender appears happy at Juventus, the club is unlikely even to entertain any approaches for the 24-year-old star.

However, if Real Madrid seriously enters the equation, it might make the player rethink his future in Turin. Like many other stars across the world, when the Spanish giants knock, it’s different from others. Considering the team they are building over at Madrid, Cambiaso might want to play there in the future.
