Tottenham are keen on exploring a move for Andrea Cambiaso in January, but Juventus will likely demand €20-25 million.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham have set sights on Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso ahead of January. Massimiliano Allegri does not want the club to sell him, but the Bianconeri will consider offers that exceed the €20-25 million mark.

Juventus are running short of funds to bring in necessary transfer targets and may sell some promising stars to raise money. Despite some onlookers claiming Massimiliano Allegri has not done enough to promote young talents, the Italian has certainly done his part, and now the club are reaping the rewards.

There are some notable emerging stars in their setup, including Andrea Cambiaso. The Italian, signed from Genoa in the summer of 2022, spent his first season on loan with Bologna. He did make a significant impact there, making 26 appearances and taking up many positions on the pitch, including playing both full-back roles and on either side of midfield.

Upon his return, Allegri has made him an essential part of his plans, with the 23-year-old defender again playing multiple roles. With 14 appearances in Serie A under his belt, Cambiaso has predominantly featured in that left wing-back role the manager likes so much and excelled with his performances.

With Juventus’s need for a top-draw midfielder in January evident, they are struggling to procure the necessary funds for such a transfer. There are links with Tottenham to sell Samuel Iling-Junior, where Brighton have also joined the race. The projections point towards the English star fetching nearly €18-20 million.

Similarly, Crystal Palace vies for Matias Soule, another of Juventus’s exciting young talents. With the sales of those two stars, the Bianconeri might have enough money. Hence, Allegri does not want the club to entertain offers for Cambiaso, although an offer exceeding €20-25 million might change that tone.

Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for the player, who could become very useful for Ange Postecoglou. Spurs do not have a clear-cut backup to Destiny Udogie, while Cambiaso can take up other positions, meaning his role does not warrant dropping his compatriot. The north Londoners also held an interest in the summer, but did not make a move then.

Hence, Tottenham might see the wisdom in bringing such a talented player and could make a double move for the 23-year-old Serie A defender and Iling-Junior. Whether Juventus are open to a complete sale or if Spurs are available to pay what’s necessary remains the question, but Allegri undoubtedly rates Cambiaso relatively highly.
