Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who wants to join Barcelona or Real Madrid.

A report from Football Transfers has claimed that Manchester City want to sign Bruno Guimaraes in the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old wants to join Real Madrid or Barcelona. He prefers a move to Spain and is valued at £100 million.

There is no doubt that Bruno Guimaraes has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for all three clubs. Manchester City need a central midfielder who can help them dominate proceedings in the middle of the park.

Guimaraes will add creativity and control to the side. Manchester City have the financial resources to pay the reported £100 million asking price for the player as well. They have a proven track record of winning major trophies and one of the best squads in world football. The opportunity to join them can be quite tempting for Guimaraes, and he is likely to be attracted to the idea of playing for the next season.

Asking price could be a problem

The Brazilian international is keen on a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid. However, the asking price could be a problem for the two Spanish clubs. Barcelona are already going through financial difficulties, and they are unlikely to be able to pay that kind of money for the midfielder even though they are keen on signing him.

Newcastle will not want to lose a key player like him anytime soon. But they will look to demand a premium if they are forced to sell him. Selling the 26-year-old to Manchester City would probably be more appealing for the Magpies because of the price they will be able to pay.

Bruno Guimaraes has proven himself in the English top flight in recent seasons, and he is certainly good enough to compete at the highest level. A move to Manchester City, Real Madrid or Barcelona could be ideal for him at the stage of his career.

Meanwhile, Barcelona and Real Madrid need more quality in the central midfield as well. Real Madrid, in particular, need to plan for life without Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. It remains to be seen whether the two Spanish clubs can work out a deal for the Brazilian midfielder.
