West Ham United will be offered the opportunity to sign the 34-year-old Borussia Dortmund legend Marco Reus.

According to a report by Football Insider, Marco Reus seems all set to leave Borussia Dortmund after the end of the season. The 34-year-old attacking midfielder will be offered to West Ham United who will be in the market in the summer looking for a new forward.

Reus’ time at Dortmund will end soon

Reus was a part of the Dortmund youth ranks, which he left in the winter of 2005. The 34-year-old returned in the summer of 2012 and has since been a mainstay in the club.

Over the years, he has featured in 415 matches for the German club and has contributed towards 295 goals. He has found the back of the net on 167 occasions and has also bagged 128 assists.

Despite being 34, he is still an important figure in their first team. He has featured in 26 matches this season and has racked up over 1,800 minutes. The German attacking midfielder also has 13 goal contributions to his name.

But, it seems his 12-year-long stay at the club will end in the summer. His contract was running out last summer when Dortmund decided to offer him a year-long extension. While it is a familiar situation, the end result is unlikely to be the same.

The Hammers could sign the Dortmund legend

Reus is expected to leave the German giants at the end of the season. There is interest in his services from clubs in America as well as Turkey. While his representatives will meet the clubs from those parts of the world, he is also expected to be offered to Premier League clubs.

West Ham United are one of the clubs he will be offered to and the Hammers will surely think about it twice before letting it go. They are expected to be in the market for a new forward in the summer with one of their three top attacking stars Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus likely to be on the move.

While Reus is an attacking midfielder, he is capable enough to feature on either flank and has been doing it for Dortmund in the ongoing season. As a result, David Moyes could look at the 34-year-old as a potential option as he will not only add quality but will also add a lot of experience.
