Chelsea could potemntially sell four senior players to balance their books ahead of another summer where they have plans to spend.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea could oversee some important sales in the summer that would bring in some much-needed funds to balance their financial books. There are some players considered surplus to requirements, including a host of their homegrown stars.

Chelsea to sanction four big sales

A report last week indicated Chelsea would need at raise at least £100 million in profit to balance their books amid plenty of FFP scrutiny. That does not merely mean raising £100 million, but showing that amount in profit. For instance, should they sell two of their homegrown stars that could be reported as total profits.

Chelsea do have a few of their homegrown stars they are plenning on selling to raise some funds in the window. Their spoending of over a billion pounds over the last four windows has put them on the brink of violating FFP regualtions, althout many other reports does state that’s not the case.

In any case, Chelsea have showcased enough intent to suggest they are ready to sell, with the report sugegsting they might sanction at least four important sales. Should they manage thatm, then the Blues could have a good enough budget to spend on new players that would strengthen their squad.

For instance, they are intent on signing a high-profile striker, with Victor Osimhen their top target. The Nigerial carries a €130 million release clause, and Napoli have clearly suggested they do not plan to negotiate that price down to even €1. Hence to bring in that sort of money they will need to sell some of their known stars to balance their act.

Who are the four players Chelsea might sell?

For starters, Conor Gallagher is understanbly their biggest homegrown asset, with Chelsea reporteldy seeking £50 million from his sale. Tottenham are keen, but there could be other clubs who might enter the race. Armando Broja, currently on loan at Fulham could be another, withthe Blues reportedly seeking a hefty fee for the Albanian.

Ian Maatsen and Trevoh Chalobah could be the other two potentially featuring on the outgoing list. There are more stars like Marc Cucurella who could also leave, while Chelsea are keen on selling Romelu Lukaku as well with those player clearly surplus to requirements.
