Manchester United remain interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old Chelsea academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah.
According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on reinforcing their defence ahead of next season. The Red Devils are on the lookout for players who can bolster their squad, and they think Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah could be an ideal fit for them.
Trevoh Chalobah’s time at Chelsea
The 24-year-old centre-back has been at Chelsea since his childhood days. He came up the ranks at some pace and made it to their first team in the summer of 2021. While he did have a few promising seasons at the start, the former England youth international has gone down the pecking order of late.
He did get enough first-team minutes last season, but injuries have kept him out of action for the majority of the 2023/24 season. Trevoh Chalobah only has four appearances for the first team, and he might not have a career at Chelsea beyond the summer.
The player’s contract with the Blues runs until the summer of 2028. But he could be on his way out in the summer in search of regular first-team action. The 24-year-old does not have a place in the London club, and a move elsewhere could help him restart from scratch.
Despite his injury struggles, multiple top clubs from across Europe, including Bayern Munich, are after his signatures. They are willing to invest in him on the back of his impressive performances in the past and his huge potential.
Manchester United’s interest in Trevoh Chalobah
Manchester United are one of the clubs that have been linked with Chalobah of late. The Red Devils wanted to sign him last summer, but they failed to get a deal over the line. They retain interest in his services and could return for him ahead of next season.
The Red Devils have had a lot of problems at the back throughout the ongoing campaign. Injuries to key defenders have caused a lot of issues, and they are looking to address it in the summer. It is no longer a secret that Manchester United want to add more depth to their backline, and the 24-year-old Chelsea graduate is very high on their list of targets.
