Real Madrid will not be making any moves in the summer for the services of Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong.
According to a report by Defensa Central, Real Madrid are interested in Jeremie Firmpong but will not be pushing for his signatures in the upcoming summer transfer window. While Florentino Perez will make major moves in the summer, they won’t be signing a right-back. Meanwhile, the Dutchman will cost around €40 million.
Frimpong’s incredible display at Bayer Leverkusen
The former Manchester City youth product has gone from strength to strength since joining Bayer Leverkusen. He is currently amongst the best young full-backs in the world, and there is a lot of interest in his services from across Europe.
The 23-year-old has played an integral role in Bayer Leverkusen’s dominance in the Bundesliga. The German club have been unbeaten in all competitions, and they are top of the league. As far as the right-back is concerned, he has scored ten goals and bagged ten assists in his 30 outings this term.
Even if Jeremie Frimpong has featured as a wing-back on the majority of the occasions, those are still crazy numbers, which is why the biggest clubs in Europe are after his signatures. Real Madrid are one of the clubs that have been linked with the Bayer Leverkusen full-back on multiple occasions.
Real Madrid’s interest and their summer plans
The Spanish giants have already started planning for the summer. Florentino Perez and his team are expected to go big in the summer, Endrick will join the club, and he could be followed by the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Alphonso Davies.
While Real Madrid were considering signing a new right-back as well, Perez has put that on hold because of Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez’s incredible performances. Carvajal has been doing wonders on a consistent basis, while Vazquez has been a great cover. As a result, they do not want to sign a new right-back in the summer.
Manchester United’s interest in Jeremie Frimpong
For now, Real Madrid are looking to extend Vazquez’s stay and are quite confident that the player will put pen to paper. With Los Blancos likely withdrawing from the race, Manchester United have received a major boost in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.
The Red Devils need a new attacking right-back and there are not many better than Jeremie Frimpong out there. The future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka at the club is uncertain, and the €40 million-rated Leverkusen full-back could be an ideal replacement.
