Manchester City are ready to rival Arsenal for Italian full-back Michael Kayode, with Fiorentina demanding at least £15 million.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City could go head-to-head with Arsenal for the signature of Michael Kayode. The Fiorentina teenage full-back has impressed this season, and his ability to play on both flanks makes him a valuable target for the Premier League giants.

Manchester City and Arsenal battle for Michael Kayode

In the times when top football managers are looking for marginal gains in the players they have, a versatile full-back could be of great use for some of those teams. For instance, Arsenal and Manchester City have increasingly looked at such options, with Mikel Arteta, in particular, keen on using players who can play both flanks.

Michael Kayode, the 19-year-old Italian full-back who plays for Fiorentina, can fulfil such a role, and Arsenal are keen on the defender. While the teenager prefers the right-hand side, he is good enough to slot on both flanks, someone similar to Jurrien Timber.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola could also value such a player as he has not had a similar option since the departure of Joao Cancelo. Hence, they are interested in the 19-year-old Italian full-back, as the Premier League champions could battle Arsenal for his signature.

Several other clubs are keen on the full-back, although the interest coming from Arsenal and Manchester City could trump them all. There is still time for things to accelerate in this particular pursuit, although Kayode is a player that will deeply interest both Guardiola and Arteta.

Fiorentina set Kayode price

While considering the player’s profile, these big clubs are also increasingly mindful of overpaying for talents. Kayode has been important for Fiorentina, although he does not merit a massive asking price, as there’s still a long way to go for the Italian.

Fiorentina are in a position of power with his contract until 2028 with the option of an addiotional season. For now, the Serie A side are reportedly seeking £15 million for the 19-year-old Italian full-back, which may seem reasonable for Arsenal or Manchester City.
