Tottenham might be better-placed than Arsenal to sign Pedro Neto

Tottenham might have an advantage over Arsenal in the race to sign Pedro Neto, valued at £80 million by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Pedro Neto is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker is also a target for Arsenal. Meanwhile, the Black Country outfit will demand around £80 million to part ways with the 23-year-old, with Tottenham likely having the advantage in the race to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Pedro Neto and his Journey at Wolverhampton Wanderers

Pedro Neto has established himself as one of the best young attackers in the Premier League since joining Wolverhampton Wanderers. A native of Viana do Castelo, the Portuguese attacker graduated from the SC Braga youth division but rose in prominence after moving to England in 2019.

The 23-year-old has steadily risen in stature at the Molineux, although he has been a mainstay in the team for a long time. He has also done well to overcome a few injury issues to become a productive attacker. And Neto is enjoying an excellent 2023/24 campaign, amassing three goals and 11 assists in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Neto’s exploits have piqued the interest of several high-profile clubs that have noticed his talent. A move across the Premier League might be on the cards, with North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur keen on securing his services in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers will demand £80 million to part ways with him.

London Calling?

Arsenal’s interest in Pedro Neto is understandable. Mikel Arteta wants two top-class options for every position as he looks to compete with Manchester City on all fronts. So, he is eager to bolster his offensive unit by signing a versatile forward. The Wolverhampton Wanderers star has thus emerged as a viable target, although paying £80 million to sign him might be an issue.

As for Tottenham, they bolstered the offensive unit last summer by signing Manor Solomon and Brennan Johnson. Timo Werner arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January. But he will unlikely complete a permanent move. So, Neto is a viable candidate to replace the German international.

Recent reports claimed that the Portuguese international is likelier to join Arsenal and Tottenham instead of his other suitors. But the latter might have an advantage in the chase due to Gestifute’s links with the club. So, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat Arsenal to his signature this summer.
