Ben Jacobs thinks Pedro Neto might prefer to join Arsenal or Tottenham over other clubs and predicts a record sale for Wolves.

According to Ben Jacobs on Give Me Sport, Pedro Neto might prefer signing for Arsenal or Tottenham among his other choices in the summer. The journalist also predicts a record sale for Wolves, who might not budge in their asking price, which could potentially go up to £70 million.

Pedro Neto might prefer Arsenal or Tottenham

There is a lot of speculation surrounding Pedro Neto’s future at Wolves, with suggestions that the winger, who pockets £50,000-a-week wages, might leave for a new challenge. For a long time, Arsenal have wanted to sign the attacker. However, they have consistently taken a step back for many reasons, including the player’s fitness and the Wolves’ asking price.

Come the summer, the Gunners will be in the market for a new wide attacker and will have Neto near the top of their list. They are facing competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United for the winger, although he reportedly prefers a move to the Emirates or even the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham have also shown interest in signing Neto, and as per Ben Jacobs, Neto might prefer to join one of the North London sides over other suitors, although the reporter needs to explain why that would be the case with the Portuguese attacker.

Jacobs said, “I think that Arsenal and Spurs are more likely destinations for Neto at this point. We know the Tottenham interest is historical, and I would expect Arsenal to consider Neto this summer as one of a few targets in that position.”

“But both of the north London clubs will also be well aware that Wolves – because he is still well contracted – will be looking for a club-record sale. They will be very firm on price. You can understand why, in an inflated market, where many attackers and midfielders have gone for in excess of £70million.”

Wolves to demand record price for Neto

Last summer, Wolves made two record-breaking sales with the departures of Portuguese midfield pair Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes. This time around, it could be another one of their stars in Neto, with Jacobs insisting they might end up demanding about £70 million.

Wolves might be open to a sale as Neto’s departure could help them fund their transfers. Even if they end up demanding less than the £70 million quoted by Jacobs, the final asking price could still surpass the £55 million or so Manchester City paid for Nunes last summer.

Whether Arsenal, Tottenham or other suitors, like Liverpool and Manchester United, are willing to pay that much remains the question, but Neto undoubtedly packs potential that suits these sides.
