Son Heung-min is happy and content at Tottenham Hotspur amid emerging reports of Saudi Pro League interest in him.

According to a report by Football Insider, Son Heung-min does not want to leave Tottenham Hotspur anytime soon. The North London giants are opening formal talks over a new contract with the 31-year-old. So, while Saudi Pro League clubs are keen on signing him, the Tottenham captain will unlikely move to the Middle East in the summer transfer window.

The Rise and Rise of Son Heung-min

Son Heung-min has come leaps and bounds since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015. A household name in the Bundesliga when he arrived in England, he has made himself one of the most recognisable Premier League players in the world in the last eight and a half years.

The 31-year-old has become the Tottenham captain this season after the departure of Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris. And the South Korean international has taken to the role like a fish to water. Son has rediscovered his productivity this term, amassing 12 goals and six assists in 22 top-flight appearances to drive Tottenham’s push for a top-four finish.

But recent reports have created widespread speculation surrounding Son’s future, with Saudi Pro League clubs keen on signing him. With the experienced attacker having less than 18 months left on his contract with Tottenham, the North London giants have been in a spot of bother and eager to tie him to a new contract.

What Does the Future Have in Store?

Recent reports have claimed that talks between Tottenham and Son Heung-min are formally opening soon, with the North London club not interested in entertaining any offers to sell him. And the latest update has revealed Son’s stance over a possible move.

While Saudi Pro League clubs can offer him a lucrative contract, the 31-year-old is committed to Tottenham and does not want to leave the North London club anytime soon. So, talks over a new contract should progress smoothly.

It will not be surprising to see Son signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur in the coming months. But the 31-year-old South Korean international will unlikely depart from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to join a Saudi Pro League club in the summer transfer window.
