Other top clubs are also chasing the Republic of Ireland international, which could make the chase for the forward much more interesting in the next window.

So now the question is whether they need a new striker to shore up their ranks, and the answer is yes.

Arteta may view the need as having something other than something to do with a lack of goals but rather bringing someone to elevate their quality in the final third. Now, they are linked with Evan Ferguson, as the Gunners have kept tabs on him alongside many other top Premier League sides.

Manchester City are also keen, and now insiders at Arsenal consider the 19-year-old Premier League attacker a considerable talent with an enormous future potential. The Gunners might explore a move, with Brighton likely to slap a huge asking price on the young forward with six goals this season, including a hat-trick against Newcastle United.

Ferguson not the only striker target for Arsenal
