Liverpool set to step up interest in Ruben Amorim

Liverpool are reportedly looking to step up their interest in 39-year-old Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool will intensify efforts to sign 39-year-old Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp.

The German manager confirmed last month that he would leave the Merseyside club in the summer. So, Liverpool have been linked with a number of alternatives. Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly a target for the Premier League club as well.

It seems that Amorim is also an option for them. The 39-year-old has done an excellent job at Portuguese club Sporting CP, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition. He has employed a free-flowing attacking approach at Sporting CP and should prove to be a good fit for Liverpool’s current squad.

The 39-year-old is highly rated around Europe and is certainly one of the brightest young managers around. Recent reports have also linked him with other high-profile clubs, including Barcelona.

Amorim over Alonso for Liverpool?

It will be interesting to see if Ruben Amorim is keen on a move to the Premier League. The opportunity to manage one of the biggest clubs in the world can be hard to turn down, and the Portuguese tactician is likely to be tempted to join Liverpool. It would be a massive opportunity for him to showcase his qualities at the highest level.

Liverpool have a phenomenal squad at their disposal, and they will be hoping to win major trophies in the coming seasons. The 39-year-old manager will certainly want to guide them to glories in the near future. Meanwhile, Liverpool have the resources to help him put together formidable squad as well.

They are certainly far more ambitious compared to Sporting CP, and the move would be a major step up in his career. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool decide to appoint him as their next manager.

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso would be an inspired acquisition as well, especially after what he has done in the Bundesliga this season. The 42-year-old has helped Bayer Leverkusen climb to the top of the table, and they are now favourites to win the league title.
