Arsenal and Aston Villa are front-runners for the signatures of 19-year-old Red Bull Salzburg attacking midfielder Oscar Gloukh.

According to a report by Football Insider, Arsenal and Aston Villa are keen on further bolstering their squad ahead of next season. Both teams believe Oscar Gloukh is ready to take the Premier League by storm and they are willing to invest in him.

Gloukh’s incredible run since joining Salzburg

Gloukh has gone places since making the move to Red Bull Salzburg from Maccabi Tel Aviv in winter last year. He has featured in a total of 45 matches for the Austrian club and has contributed towards 17 goals.

13 of those goal contributions have come in the ongoing season. The attacking midfielder has found the back of the net on six occasions and he even has seven assists to his name in his 28 outings. Salzburg are comfortably sitting at the top of the table and Gloukh has played a big part in their dominance.

His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed, multiple clubs have been scouting him for a while and there could be a bidding war for him in the summer. While numerous clubs from across Europe want him in their ranks, Arsenal and Aston Villa are the ones leading the race at this stage.

Arsenal and Aston Villa are both keen on Gloukh’s signatures

Both clubs are quite serious about their pursuit. Arsenal have been doing great under Mikel Arteta, the Spanish manager has converted them into a team that can challenge for major titles but there is still room for improvement.

They are always on the lookout for players who help their cause and people at the club feel Gloukh could be a great signing for them. He is only 19 and is capable enough to be a part of their first team at this stage. The Israel international will only get better with time and he could eventually be an integral part of their team.

They have been scouting him for a while now and have compiled a huge dossier on his talents. They believe he is the right fit and are looking to move in the summer. Even Aston Villa like the 19-year-old sensation, even they have gone from strength to strength under Unai Emery and are now looking to take the next step.

Villa feels Gloukh could make them more deadly going forward and want him in their ranks at any cost. While the English clubs might be ahead of others in the race, they will ultimately have to battle it out for his signatures
