Arsenal have scouted Oscar Gloukh at the weekend and could accelerate their pursuit of the 19-year-old Red Bull Salzburg star.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal are keen on Oscar Gloukh and have scouted the midfielder as recently as the weekend, where he produced an excellent performance. The Gunners are keen on the 19-year-old Israel international, a target for Barcelona, with Red Bull Salzburg bracing for bids in the summer.

Arsenal scout Oscar Gloukh

Arsenal are in the market for some of the exciting young profiles around, and that includes Oscar Gloukh. The attacking midfielder, who can also play a slightly deeper role, has caught the eye of the Gunners’ scouts, who were present to watch him in action for Red Bull Salzburg.

While Salzburg only came away with a draw, the Arsenal scouts may have had a better picture of the 19-year-old Israel international. He has played a crucial role for the Austrian side this season and has a glowing reputation in the market, which has attracted the interest of many clubs.

Arsenal are undoubtedly keen, as they had been since before the January window. The Gunners might look at the Israel international as a potentially young addition to their side, similar to how they did with Fabio Vieira 18 months ago.

Red Bull Salzburg wanted a huge fee ahead of January and may retain a massive valuation on the 19-year-old attacking midfielder with the summer window approaching. The idea for them would be to maximise the player’s potential and get a considerable sum in return, considering the quality of the sides interested.

Barcelona to rival Arsenal for Gloukh

Arsenal are undoubtedly keen and may take steps to put themselves ahead in the race for Gloukh. However, the Gunners will face tough competition for the 19-year-old during the summer window, with interest from the likes of Tottenham and Barcelona.

Barcelona, in particular, have held a long-standing interest and may have probed about his availability in January following the season-ending injury to Gavi. However, that is when Red Bull Salzburg might have quoted an excessive price point, as the Catalans were not in a position to pay big in January.

In the summer, Barcelona still might face financial constraints to pay significantly for any player, let alone Gloukh. Hence, the 19-year-old might have a bigger chance of joining a Premier League side like Arsenal than the Catalans.
