VfB Stuttgart will demand €15-20 million to part ways with Silas Katompa Mvumpa, a target for Fulham, in the summer transfer window.
According to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Silas Katompa Mvumpa remains the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are in the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window. And VfB Stuttgart will likely sell the 25-year-old later this year, with the Bundesliga club demanding €15-20 million to sell him.
Who is Silas Katompa Mvumpa?
Silas Katompa Mvumpa has made considerable progress at VfB Stuttgart. A native of Kinshasa, the DR Congo international spent most of his formative years in France before graduating from the Paris FC youth division. But he has risen in prominence since arriving in the Bundesliga in August 2019.
The 25-year-old went by the name Silas Wamangituka when he joined VfB Stuttgart. But the Bundesliga top-four hopefuls corrected that in June 2021 after the player brought the issue to their notice, even correcting his date of birth. Meanwhile, he has had a solid 2023/24 campaign, chipping in with five goals and four assists in 19 appearances thus far.
The former Paris FC winger’s progress at VfB Stuttgart has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Fulham considered signing the player on Deadline Day of the winter transfer window. But a move failed to materialise in the dying hours of the market.
Fulham Still Interested
Fulham’s interest in Silas Katompa Mvumpa has not waned, and they will look to sign him in the summer transfer window. The stance makes sense, considering Willian is on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the end of his glittering career. In addition, Adama Traore has struggled to make his mark at Fulham since arriving from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
So, it behoves Fulham to invest in a wide attacker, with the VfB Stuttgart winger emerging as a viable target. The Swabians are now open to cashing in on the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window, setting a price tag of €15-20 million.
