Manchester United will reportedly demand €50 million to part ways with struggling 23-year-old Brazilian international Antony.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Antony faces an uncertain future at Manchester United. The Red Devils are ready to cash in on the Erik ten Hag favourite in the summer transfer window. And they will demand €50 million to part ways with the 23-year-old later this year.

Antony and his Manchester United Journey

Antony joined Manchester United from Ajax in a deal worth nearly €100 million in August 2022. The transfer fee raised many eyebrows, especially considering he had not shown the kind of productivity at Ajax or Sao Paulo to justify the heavy investment that Manchester United made in him.

The Brazilian international showed some positive signs in his debut season but had a sub-par tally. However, the 23-year-old has been dreadful thus far in the 2023/24 campaign, managing only one goal and one assist in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Those returns came in one game in the FA Cup against Newport County. So, Antony has yet to either find the back of the net or provide an assist in any of his outings in the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League. So, it is hardly surprising that the player has lost his spot in the starting lineup, with Alejandro Garnacho becoming the first-choice right winger.

Set for a Departure?

With Antony’s fortunes going from bad to worse, it will not be surprising to see Manchester United cashing in on him in the summer transfer window. Recent reports have claimed that the Red Devils are open to cashing in on the struggling 23-year-old, even though he is one of Erik ten Hag’s favourites.

However, the latest updates have suggested that Antony might not have a market in the summer transfer window due to his high wages, length of contract, and excessive transfer fee. Nevertheless, Manchester United have set their asking price for the Brazilian international, demanding €50 million to sell him.

It is unclear if a club will be open to shelling out €50 million to secure Antony’s services in the summer transfer window. But Manchester United might offer him to Saudi Pro League clubs, and recouping €50 million from his sale might be possible.
