Tottenham prepared to shell out £35 million to sign Conor Gallagher

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to fork out £35 million to land the 24-year-old Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher at the club.

According to a report by GiveMeSport, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Conor Gallagher in their ranks. The North London club are willing to pay £35 million to sign the 24-year-old Chelsea midfielder ahead of next season.

Conor Gallagher and his uncertain future at Chelsea

Gallagher’s future has been the talk of the town ever since the start of the season, and it still remains the same. The England international has been at Chelsea since his childhood days. He came up the ranks and made it to their first team in the summer of 2022.

Despite enjoying a decent first full season, there were talks of a potential departure in the summer, although it did not happen. He has since worked his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans but with his contract running out in the summer of 2025, there are still doubts over his future.

The Blues would love to extend his stay at the club. But both parties are unable to find a common ground. If the West Londoners fail to extend his stay before the end of the season, there could be a possibility of him leaving for a bargain price.

Gallagher: Spurs’ dream signing

Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The North Londoners have been interested in Gallagher for a while now. Ange Postecoglou feels the 24-year-old midfielder is a perfect fit for the club. They wanted to sign him in the winter window but were not ready to meet Chelsea’s valuation of £50 million with his contract running out.

With the England international all set to enter the final 12 months of his contract, his value is on the decline. His realistic value during the summer will be around £30 million or £35 million, a figure that Spurs will not have any problems paying.

While Tottenham are keen on having the 24-year-old in their ranks and feel his arrival could help them take the next step. Spurs are a bit tentative and are still pondering about when to make a move for the Chelsea star’s services.
