According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are keeping close tabs on Oscar Gloukh ahead of the summer transfer window. The Red Bull Salzburg prospect has featured on the list of several top clubs, with Unai Emery’s side staying caught up after exploring a move back in January.

Aston Villa are monitoring Oscar Gloukh

Oscar Gloukh has made a considerable mark with his performances for Red Bull Salzburg, particularly in this season’s Champions League. While the Austrian side suffered an early elimination from the competition, the Israel international did have a few good displays that were enough to attract considerable interest.

Red Bull Salzburg demanded a considerable fee in January, with Aston Villa linked with a move. Unai Emery’s side have kept sight of the 19-year-old highly-rated midfielder, with a summer more now entirely possible. The Birmingham-based side outfit are keeping constant tabs on the midfielder as he continues to perform well for club and country, having contributed to 13 goals this term.

Gloukh could shine further in March should he help Israel qualify for the Euros. However, with his rising stature within Salzburg, the 19-year-old highly-rated midfielder might jump to one of the Premier League sides, with Aston Villa in the mix.

Emery is keen to add more young stars to the equation as he forges a strong enough side to compete for honours next season. Aston Villa have had a fantastic season so far, as they are firmly in the race to finish in the top four.

Under Emery, young players have seen progress, which Gloukh will notice before deciding to switch to the club from Salzburg. However, should he continue with his impressive form for the remainder of the campaign, more clubs could come in for the 19-year-old highly-rated midfielder, with Arsenal already keen.

The Gunners recently scouted Gloukh, indicating that the midfielder might have entered Mikel Arteta’s shortlist. However, any decision from the Israel international will centre around where he gets to play regularly, as he might undoubtedly look to make the big switch from Salzburg in the summer.
