Tottenham prepared to pay up to €70 million to sign Raphinha

Tottenham are ready to fork out €70 million to acquire the services of the 27-year-old Barcelona forward Raphinha.

According to a report by Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bolstering their squad in the next summer transfer window, and they have already started making moves. Barcelona right-winger Raphinha is one of their targets, and they are willing to pay €70 million to land him at the club.

Raphinha made a name for himself while playing for Leeds United in the Premier League. He attracted a lot of attention before Barcelona won the race for his services as they signed him in the summer of 2022.

The 27-year-old has done a decent job since moving to Spain. He has managed to establish himself as an important part of their first team. In the ongoing season, the Brazil international has 11 goal contributions in just over 1,000 minutes of first-team action.

Barcelona’s financial woes might lead to Raphinha sale

While he still has over three years left on his deal with the Catalan giants, Raphinha could still be on his way out in the summer. Barcelona’s financial crisis is far from over, as they do not have funds to reinforce their squad. The only way out is by cashing in on a few of their star players.

The Catalan giants are ready to negotiate the departure of quite a few of their players in order to improve their financial situation. Barcelona have already received offers for three of their players as confirmed by Joan Laporta to the Barcelona opinion groups during a meeting on Monday.

Raphinha is one of the players for whom they have received an offer. Tottenham Hotspur are the interested party. The North London club have had a great start under Ange Postecoglou, and they are keen on reinforcing the squad to ensure they can take the next step.

Postecoglou will look to add depth to his ranks in the summer. He is focused on adding more world-class players to the mix to ensure they have enough quality to push for major titles. Raphinha has proven himself in the Premier League and can surely adjust to the Australian manager’s style of play without much difficulty.

According to the report, Spurs are ready to pay up to €70 million for the services of a 27-year-old. But, that is not the only offer, there is another interesting proposal at the table for Barcelona but the club that made it has not been revealed yet. Given the kind of financial crisis they are in, the Spanish giants will surely consider the idea of his departure.
