Manchester United have an edge in the chase for Khephren Thuram and could beat the likes of Arsenal in the summer for the OGC Nice midfielder.

According to Caught Offside, Manchester United could use the INOES links to get an edge in the race for Khephren Thuram ahead of the summer window. Arsenal are also reportedly keen on the OFC Nice star, although they could lose out to the Red Devils in the race.

Manchester United have an edge in Khephren Thuram’s chase

Khephren Thuram was widely expected to leave OGC Nice last summer, with Liverpool showing strong links earlier, and then he saw links to Manchester United. Neither move materialised as the 22-year-old Frenchman remains with the Ligue 1 club, although there are chances for him to get that move in the upcoming summer window.

Incidentally, INEOS, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has acquired a 25% stake in Manchester United and has taken control of football operations at the club. INOES also have a controlling stake in Nice, and considering the Red Devils are interested in Thuram, they could have an edge.

Erik ten Hag could make changes to his midfield and could make a few additions to the squad. Thuram could strengthen their team, as Manchester United could use their INEOS links to get the deal over the line. Things could change in that favour if there were more sides, more powerful than the Red Devils, to take the 22-year-old Frenchman away.

For instance, Liverpool could retain an interest, and the report also mentions Arsenal as a potential suitor in the chase. Mikel Arteta may like the midfielder, although the chances of them signing the 22-year-old Frenchman are slim, as the Spaniard has other priorities in the market.

Arsenal is unlikely to chase Thuram

As per widespread reports, Arsenal is interested in adding to their midfield in the summer, although its positional priorities differ slightly from what Thuram offers. Martin Zubimendi is a priority target for Arteta, while there are links to Frenkie De Jong and Amadou Onana.

Thomas Partey might depart, as Arteta has also considered rekindling the Douglas Luiz chase ahead of the summer window. Hence, while Arsenal’s links to Thuram make complete sense, the 22-year-old Frenchman is not a priority signing for Arteta, as Manchester United could have a clear path for the Nice midfielder.
