Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid are interested in securing the services of the 21-year-old Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund.

According to a report by Defensa Central, Real Madrid have started planning for the summer transfer window, and their priority will be to sign a new striker. Los Blancos have not signed Karim Benzema’s replacement yet, and they are expected to go big ahead of next season. Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund is a striker who has been discussed at the club of late.

Real Madrid Thriving This Season

Despite not signing a replacement for Karim Benzema last summer, the team in white have been doing wonders in La Liga as well as the Champions League. Their marquee signing from the summer, Jude Bellingham, has had a sensational debut season so far. And if he continues in a similar fashion, they are expected to end the season with a major title to their name.

It is almost certain that they will sign a new world-class forward in the summer. Real Madrid’s priority will be to sign either Manchester City’s Erling Haaland or PSG’s Kylian Mbappe. The French international has been linked with the Spanish club for years now. He dreams of playing for them and with his contract expiring in the summer, there is a real possibility of him joining them.

Even Haaland wants to play for Los Blancos as well. The Manchester City striker has been scoring goals for fun since joining Pep Guardiola’s team. He has established himself as one of the best forwards in the world, and Real Madrid would love to have him in their ranks.

The priority will be to land either of them in the summer. But if Los Blancos fail to do so, they will look to sign Rasmus Hojlund as per the report. Hojlund completed a big-money move to Manchester United last summer.

Rasmus Hojlund to Real Madrid?

Since joining Manchester United, Hojlund has been struggling to find the back of the net and has been criticised for his performances. But, it seems the 21-year-old has turned things around, as he has scored five goals and has bagged two assists in his last five outings.

His impressive performances have resulted in Real Madrid’s interest. The Spanish team’s chief scout Juni Calafat has been asked to once again keep a close eye on the Danish international. He was scouting Hojlund before the Manchester United move, and Calafat will now once again start keeping an eye on the 21-year-old.

But for Hojlund to be considered a proper plan B to Haaland and Mbappe, he will have to keep his scoring streak going or else Real Madrid won’t think much before looking elsewhere for the best possible solution.
